For those of us, who require navigation/smartphone holder, Peugeot is supplying a RAM mount holder (X-Grip). You may have bought your Metropolis with a holder already.
One can easily order one from Peugeot (70 euro in NL), authorised dealer (97 gbp in UK!) or our German friends (75!), but there are other ways to get it.
I’ve ordered one from AliExpess (China), they’re copied RAM mounts, from what I see, but it costs around 10$. Big positive difference, when comparing it to regular Peugeot RAM-mount is the on-board USB-port, which would allow you to easily charge your device while riding, without the need to open the glovebox compartment with 12V socket.
You can get the same product from Amazon, but it’d still be shipping from China.
I’m still waiting for mine (so more info to follow), but you can actually mount the holder in 2 ways, instead of Peugeot’s one:
- Unscrew one of the mirrors, put the holder in and screw the mirror back on. Easy-peasy, but more prone to stealing, I’d assume.
- Use the proprietary Peugeot’s mount: there’s a small cover just above your instruments, underneath there’s an american 3/8 inch screw hole (I believe you’d need to get the correct screw+ball for the mount).
